Time Attendant

'Treacherous Orb' (EP stream)

Time Attendant hails from London, UK, but the electronic musician also known as Paul Snowdon is teaming up with a Canadian label for his new 12-inch EP. Vancouver-based imprint More Than Human will issue his Treacherous Orb on January 31, and the six-song collection is available to stream in full on Exclaim.ca.

A press release notes that the material consists of "soundscapes invoking macrocosmic awe and microscopic terror." Sure enough, the tracks are a little on the creepy side, with dark synth textures, ambient mood pieces and flickering drum programming. Most of the material is instrumental, although British surrealist poet Dolly Dolly makes a spoken cameo on "The Hexapod Star Shuffle."

Hear the EP below. Be sure to stay tune for More Than Human's next release, which will be an EP from kosmische legend Dieter Moebius of Cluster and Harmonia.

Also, if you're in Vancouver, the label will be hosting a show at Red Gate (855 East Hastings) on January 31 with Passenger, Plays:four, Kensington Gore and Common Vernacular.
