Timbaland Promises New 'Opera Noir' LP

While Timbaland had been promising to give us a new album called Textbook Timbo, there's apparently been a change of plans. According to a new interview, the producer/rapper is now set to unveil his next artistic statement as Opera Noir.

Speaking with REVOLT, Timbaland referred to the impending LP as his own The Chronic, alluding to Dr. Dre's 1992 album, explaining that he also discovered truths about himself while making the set.

"It's a culture thing. It's the truth. It's just about life in general. My life. My personal life, and I found myself as an artist and human being and as a man. I found who I am," he said.

It's unclear at present if this is an entirely new set of songs than what Timbaland had been previewing for Textbook Timbo, such as his "Bounce" collaboration with Jay Z. A few years back, the producer had also promised a Shock Value 3 was on the way, with guest appearances booked with Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry.

There's no firm release date for Opera Noir, but you can watch the REVOLT interview with Timbaland below. It also covers his work on the newly released posthumous Michael Jackson album XSCAPE.
