Ticketfly Expands into Canada

Bay Area ticketing and marketing platform Ticketfly has been growing quickly in the U.S., and now the company has officially expanded into Canada.

Ticketfly will be working with Canadian promoters like Union Events, Collective Concerts, the University of Calgary and Inertia Entertainment. Additionally, it has acquired Calgary's Prime Box Office. Bruce Morrison, the former director of operations for Ticketmaster Canada, will be heading up Ticketfly's Toronto office as general manager.

The company is an independent ticketing platform that integrates with social media and allows promoters to publicize their event details across a variety of websites and apps. This means that promoters can easily control show listings and analyze traffic, while fans can purchase tickets directly from social networks for reportedly low fees.

Morrison said in a statement, "The integrated and forward-thinking toolset that Ticketfly offers to its clients is invaluable. By enabling clients to save time, sell more tickets and maintain control of their events, Ticketfly positions itself as a serious new alternative for Canadian venues, promoters, artists and fans."
