T.I. Dropped by AXE

Well, you can’t say you couldn’t see this one coming. Though earlier this year rapper T.I. signed on as spokesperson for AXE body spray, his recent activity hasn’t had him smelling so fresh to the deodorant manufacturer. Following his drug bust last month, a representative for the company told TMZ that AXE was “troubled by [T.I.'s] arrest" and has been forced into "reviewing our promotional activities" with the rapper.” Last week’s announcement that Tip was going back to prison for 11 months for his parole violation proved to be the final straw for AXE, however, which has now announced that the company is severing ties with the star.

Another statement was sent to TMZ yesterday (October 19) confirming the end of T.I.’s brief endorsement deal.

"We will no longer feature T.I. in our promotional campaign,” an AXE representative wrote.

Any information linking T.I. to AXE has been removed from the company’s website.

It’s still unclear exactly when T.I. will return to jail, but chances are good he won’t be enchanting his cellmate with the AXE effect.
