Thurston Moore Teams Up with Kurt Vile for West Coast Tour, Heads to Vancouver

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 26, 2011

As previously reported, Sonic Youth frontman and distinguished solo artist Thurston Moore is gearing up to release Demolished Thoughts, a new album he recorded with the equally interesting '90s persona Beck Hansen. The record is coming out on May 24 via Matador, and it will now be followed by a handful of solo tour dates.

After a few select U.S. dates and a stop at Wilco's Solid Sound Festival in Massachusetts, Moore will team up with Kurt Vile & the Violators and Hush Arbors. The shows maintain a heavy focus on California and Oregon, but there is one Canadian date burrowed in there, as Moore plans to take Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on July 21.

Moore's Demolished Thoughts is currently available for pre-order now right here. Mail order records will be on clear vinyl and will include a poster. If you haven't checked it out yet, album track "Benediction" can be heard here.
