Former Sonic Youth vocalist/guitarist Thurston Moore has released a compendium of lyrics and poems, which is titled Stereo Sanctity. The book was published through his own Ecstatic Peace Library and is available now via Rough Trade UK.
A press release for the volume notes that it collects a "large and personal selection of Thurston Moore's poems and lyrics," which were written between 1981 and 2014. Some of the material in Stereo Sanctity comes from his time with Sonic Youth, while portions of his solo career are also observed in the collection. It's further noted that this is the first time Moore's poems have been published as such.
Stereo Sanctity, delivered in a limited edition run of 700 copies, has landed ahead of a book tour of the UK. Moore is set to undertake readings and Q+A sessions at Rough Trade Nottingham on October 13 and Rough Trade East in London on October 14. Pitchfork reports that Moore may also appear at other UK Rough Trade shops.
Moore's last solo LP was 2014's The Best Day.
Stereo Sanctity is the second Sonic Youth-related publication released by a band member this year. Last spring, bassist Kim Gordon issued her memoirs, Girl in a Band.
