In the spirit of democracy, Thurston Moore has shared a politically-charged new track, "May Daze" to his Bandcamp profile.
Recorded by producer Paul Epworth at the Church in London, Moore called the track a "soundtrack for our USA sisters + brothers to register as voters today," adding, "If you still need to — we can change the world — free all political prisoners — insurrection for common decency — rock n roll consciousness."
The song features contributions by former Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley and My Bloody Valentine's Deb Googe, as well as James Sedwards.
Along with all the archival Sonic Youth recordings that hit the web earlier this year, Moore shared unreleased material of his own through Bandcamp, including "Instant Transcendent Conjecture" back in April.
The artist's latest full-length release was 2019's Spirit Counsel.
