Thurston Moore Announces Chelsea Light Moving Album, Hits Toronto on Tour

Last year, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore announced that his new main project would be a band called Chelsea Light Moving. Now, after a handful of leaks, he's announced plans to release the debut album from the project.

The album, which will be self-titled, is set for release on March 5 via Matador. It was recorded with Justin Pizzoferrato at his Sone Lab studio in Eashampton, MA. That's the cover art above.

For now, that's all we know about the LP, but the group will also embark on a North American tour this spring. Among the many U.S. stops is one Canadian date, with Chelsea Light Moving hitting Toronto's Lee's Palace on March 31. The full itinerary is available below.
