Thrill Jockey Continues Vinyl Streak with New Twelve-Inch from Pontiak

Continuing with their recent obsession with vinyl twelve-inches, Chicago's Thrill Jockey has announced that the label will be releasing a vinyl-only EP for Pontiak. Called Sea Voids, it will mark the fourth Thrill Jockey release for the Virginia-based heavy psyche trio.

According to a press release, the EP was inspired by the band's experiences on the road, and recorded quickly and cathartically: "They spent many long nights, amps blazing into the summer darkness, drums echoing off the surrounding hills, working to finish. They tuned the bass and the guitar down to B, cranked their amps and let the air open up. Hardly any distortion pedals were used. It was just LOUD."

Sea Voids will be released on October 20, and will be limited to 1,000 copies. Pontiak are already at work on a follow-up album.

Sea Voids:

1. "Suzerain"
2. "World Wide Prince"
3. "One Ton One Kilo"
4. "Shot in the Arm"
5. "Life and Coral"
6. "The Spiritual Nurse"
7. "Feeding"
8. "It's the Life"
9. "Sea Voids"
