Three Legged Race Preps 'Persuasive Barrier' for Spectrum Spools

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 17, 2012

Not only is Robert Beatty a founding member of the Kentucky noise act Hair Police, but he records solo works under the pseudonym Three Legged Race. It's under this banner that Editions Mego sub-label Spectrum Spools will release his new album, Persuasive Barrier, on December 3.

The eight-track collection was recorded by Ed Sunspot at Resonant Hole in Lexington, KY. The recorded period stretched across five years, from 2008 to 2012. Though Three Legged Race has released a pile of records over the year, Spools is calling this Beatty's first proper full-length as Three Legged Race.

Judging by a press release, the album promises to be a sonically diverse collection full of melodic soundscapes and more abrasive diversions. Descriptions include "a hot cloud, slowly moving and dripping micro details" and "juxtaposed clatter and wide open space."
