This Video Will Make You a Rock Music History Expert in 15 Minutes

The history of rock music is no easy subject to cover in a short amount of time, but Brighton, UK media group IthacaAudio have given it their best shot with an inventive new audio/visual mash-up video.

Moving in chronological order, History of Rock details the genre's evolution by displaying major songs, events and influences through a Facebook timeline. For instance, a video of Cream performing "Sunshine of Your Love" sees an Eric Clapton profile comment "The riff...was strictly a dedication to Jimi. And then we wrote a song on top of it," followed closely by a 'like' from a Hendrix profile.

Profiles for Alice Cooper, David Bowie and Queen demonstrate their love for the rock music spectacle by liking Pink Floyd's video for "Another Brick in the Wall." A profile for Dave Grohl calls Oasis "The greatest rock band I've ever seen in my life."

Soundtracking the video is a monster-sized mash-up of rock tunes that also move chronologically with the video, expertly fusing together tunes from the Yardbirds to Kings of Leon.
