These Were the Most Viewed Music Videos of 2016

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 8, 2016

Yesterday (December 7), we found out what Canadians were wasting their time watching on YouTube all year — and surprisingly, no traditional music videos made the cut. Now, though, the video streaming service and its music video streaming partner Vevo have revealed what exactly the most popular music videos were this year.

The globally-sourced data was compiled by taking views, shares, comments and likes into account, and it turns out that the video for girl group Fifth Harmony's collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign "Work from Home" was the most watched on YouTube.

As for Vevo's most popular clip? Justin Bieber's "Sorry" is not only topping the list for this year's most watched video, but with an astounding 1,824,823,909 views — yes, that's more than 1 billion — the video is also resting atop the list of most streamed Vevo videos of all time. Sadly, the most streamed music video of all time on YouTube is still Psy's "Gangnam Style."

See the complete list of 2016's most watched videos from both YouTube and Vevo down below, and feel free to give them a couple more views — not that they need it.
