These Arms are Snakes don’t really want to hurt you; they just want to get angry, which they do quite well on this five-song EP of meaty post-hardcore skirl. Ex-members of Botch and Kill Sadie team up to thrash out a brick wall of angular stabs and chords augmented by healthy dashes of declarative braying, much in the manner of At the Drive-In. Even the track titles ("Riding the Grape Dragon” and "Run It Through the Dog”) seem to be surrealist nods to the defunct El-Paso troupe, but don’t worry, you’ll actually understand the Snakes’ lyrics while you wiggle and writhe to their gum-numbing ditties.
