Well, here's the moment many a rock fan has been waiting for: Them Crooked Vultures have announced that they will embark on their first North American tour. Beginning in October, the supergroup, featuring Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, will make the rounds in both the U.S. and Canada for a series of North American club dates.

According to Billboard, things will kick off at the Austin City Limits festival on October 1, and then the band will hit up a number of American cities, including Detroit, Boston, Columbus and Philadelphia. As for Canada, the only stop so far is at Toronto's Sound Academy on October 9.

However, if you don't see your city listed, don't fret. Them Crooked Vultures' tour is far from finalized and more North American dates are expected to be added shortly. And if you're in the UK, NME has confirmed the group have several dates lined up and announced over there for December.

And while it's great that we finally have more than just a scattering of one-off shows, there's still no word on the release plans for Them Crooked Vultures' debut album. Obviously, they're playing a chunk of their newly written tracks live, such as "Elephant," "Dead End Friends," "Warsaw" and "Scumbag Blues," but their record isn't expected until "later this year or in early 2010," Billboard reports.
