The xx's Romy Madley Croft Announces New Solo Album

During an Instagram live performance, the singer shared plans to release her debut solo record and premiered a new song titled "Weightless"

Amid the plethora of self-isolation distractions to occur this weekend, The xx vocalist Romy Madley Croft has announced plans to host a livestream concert from lockdown. Later today, she'll perform new songs, share "some news" and answer fan questions from the comfort of her home.

In addition to her upcoming performance, Croft has hinted at something exciting that she wants to announce during the event, after taking to social media to promote the concert.

"Hello! Hope you're ok! Tomorrow I'm gonna be doing a live stream from my house," Croft wrote in an Instagram post, "I've got some news, singing some new songs and answering some questions, if you have anything you wanna know message me and I'll try to answer live."

Croft will go live at 1 p.m. ET today from her Instagram account.

UPDATE (4/19, 1:10 p.m. ET): Croft has announced plans to release a solo album of "upbeat guitar music" under her own name, Romy, and premiered a new song titled "Weightless" during her livestream. Scroll down to catch a snippet of the new track.
