After venturing to The Tin Shop with an EP earlier this year, Will Whitwham has lifted the curtain on his next forthcoming full-length with the Wilderness of Manitoba

Titled Across the Dark, the record arrives September 15 through Pheromone Recordings. All 10 tracks were written and produced by Whitwham himself, though he says the LP is more reminiscent of the band's live sound than ever before.

"We've experimented a lot in the studio over the past few albums while maintaining a core sound as a touring act," he said in a statement. "And while that sound has always remained intact, it hasn't always been easy in the studio just because there are so many options with multiple outcomes. I limited myself a little more on this record and ended up with something tighter."

A first taste of what's to come from the record can be found below with "Cindy Runs." Whitwham explained that the song follows "Cinderella as the clock strikes midnight," drawing on '60s pop songs he admired growing up.

A press release explains that the record's title reflects the feeling of being "committed to something sonically and you're confident enough to 'cross the dark' with it," while also playing to "constantly trying to find something and the yearning for someone as a main theme in the songs themselves."
