The Weeknd to Release 'We're Alone Together' EP This Week?

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 7, 2018

Abel Tesfaye recently delivered some new material as the Weeknd with his My Dear Melancholy, EP — and according to internet sleuths, another new release could be arriving later this week.

Fans on Reddit claim that a follow-up EP titled We're Alone Together is set to arrive on May 11.

Instagram account laleakers shared the unconfirmed album artwork and release date, and keen fans have noted that Tesfaye's manager and XO CEO Tony Sal "liked" the photo. Of course, others have pointed out that Sal could just be trolling fans.

The Weeknd has yet to make any formal announcement of another EP, though his Instagram bio does currently simply read: "we're alone together."

UPDATE (05/07, 3:27 p.m. EDT): Complex reports that a source close to the Weeknd has claimed a new EP will not be released this week. However, there has still been no official word from the Weeknd camp.

Fans have been speculating that another multi-album release could be on the way — pointing to the comma at the end of My Dear Melancholy, as a hint at an unfinished project.

The Weeknd started his career by releasing mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, which were later reissued as a compilation album dubbed Trilogy.

While it remains unclear if we'll actually be receiving another new EP from the Toronto-born crooner, we'll only have to wait a few days to find out for sure.

Stay tuned for any updates if and when they become available.
