Since live music isn't returning anytime soon, the Weeknd has decided to get creative, announcing he will be heading to TikTok for a new virtual "music experience."

Coming under the banner of "The Weeknd Experience," the augmented reality concert will take place exclusively on TikTok on August 7 starting at 8:30 p.m. ET. It comes in collaboration with XO, Republic Records and virtual entertainment hub Wave.

"The Weeknd Experience" will mark the first time TikTok has done a full-on augmented reality concert, with the platform no doubt hoping for similar success to that of Travis Scott's "Astronomical" event on Fortnite.

"Through TikTok's first-of-its-kind virtual musical experience, you'll be captivated and suspended in space while the Weeknd invites you into the awesome madness of his world, as seen through his own eyes," TikTok promises in a press release.

It also adds that fans will have the chance to interact with the Weeknd during the event, which will find the artist delivering tracks from his recent After Hours album.

The concert will also raise money for the Equal Justice Initiative, a charity working to support racial equality.

You can RSVP for the show here.
