The Top Three Billboard Rock Songs of the Decade Are All by Imagine Dragons

The end of the decade offers a perfect time for us to reflect on where we are at as a collective species, and that can certainly be well-reflected in our pop culture choices. Depending on where you stand regarding blonde-haired, blue-eyed white guys, it was either a fantastic decade or a terrible one.

Billboard has tallied up the top songs of the 2010s, and it's a truly fascinating collection of data. For example, the rock category was literally dominated by Imagine Dragons, with the Vegas-bred floor-tom hitters clinching the top three spots on the charts.

Another three spots were eaten up by Twenty One Pilots, and the list was rounded out by Panic! at the Disco, the Lumineers, Walk the Moon and Portugal. The Man.
 

Of course, everyone knows that rock music was in danger throughout the decade so the Dragons' disruption should come as no surprise. What is more surprising is the supremely vanilla choice we as a people all made for the top hip-hop song. Yes, Macklemore took the No. 1 spot of the decade with his ode to thrift shopping entitled "Thrift Shop":
