The Silver Hearts

'Golden Favourites' (album stream)

If the Ontario band the Silver Hearts feel like a foggy memory, they kind of are. After all, that's typically what happens when it's been an entire decade and then some since a band's last album. However, that's all about to change as the Silver Hearts bounce back into our lives with their Golden Favourites.

Marking the follow-up to 2003's No Place, the group's new LP doesn't arrive until November 4 via Mudtown Records, but you can stream it early here at Exclaim!

Golden Favourites features 11 previously unrecorded songs from the group's 16-year history, though some may be familiar to fans. Live favourites such as "Hot Time," and "St. James Infirmary Blues" appear on the album, which was recorded by engineer James McKenty (who also helmed No Place).

As a press release explains, "Long thought to be a 'live band,' Golden Favourites counters that claim with evidence of a experienced group, comfortable and capable in a studio helmed by a skilled producer. Old and new fans alike are guaranteed to find luminous gems inside of Golden Favourites."

See how true that rings with the stream below.

You can order Golden Favourites here on Bandcamp. The Silver Hearts will play a release show at Heartwood Concert Hall in Owen Sound, ON, on November 4. You can get tickets here.
