The Shins have shared two new songs as a part of the Fug Yep Soundation 7-inch vinyl series in memory of their late band member Richard Swift.

Following Swift's death last year, artists rallied together to create a singles series to raise funds for his family and for two charity organizations, MusiCares and Music Support UK. Today, the Shins have shared two new songs tied to the project. "Waimanalo" and "Trapped by the Sea" arrive as a part of the series.

The Shins' contribution marks the second release in the series and their first recording since 2017's Heartworms. Previously, the Fug Yep series released the project's debut singles by Lucius, including "Christmas Time Is Here" and "Keep Me Hanging On." Both 7-inch records come with original artwork by Swift.

In addition to Lucius, artists like Dan Auerbach, David Bazan, Jessie Baylin, Fruit Bats, Gardens and Villa, Damien Jurado, James Mercer, Pure Bathing Culture, Jonathan Rado, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Shannon and the Clams have pledged support for Fug Yep.

Swift died last year on July 3. He was 41 years old.
