The Rural Alberta Advantage Announce New Album 'The Rise & the Fall,' Share New Single "Conductors"

It includes all six tracks from last year's 'The Rise' EP

The Rural Alberta Advantage have announced a new album, out a month from today. The Rise & the Fall arrives October 6 through Saddle Creek and Paper Bag Records.

As the title indicates, the album includes all of last year's The Rise EP, which appears in its original sequence as the LP's first six cuts; there are seven additional tracks (presumably known as The Fall), including the prior single "Plague Dogs." To mark today's announcement, the RAA have shared the new single "Conductors."

The album is the band's first since the return of original keyboardist Amy Cole, who briefly left the lineup. She said, "The last couple of years really tested us as a band, and made us ask ourselves: Why do we want to make music right now? And I think the answer is that, when the three of us get together, something happens that we now know is rare and special. We made this record so we can share this feeling, and bring others into that experience with us."

The trio worked on the album during pandemic lockdowns via Zoom meetings and distanced rehearsals in warehouses. Eventually, they hit the studio in 2022 with Gavin Gardiner.
