The Pack A.D. Announce Their Final Album

Start saying goodbye by listening to "Give Up" from the Vancouver duo's 'It was fun while it lasted'

Vancouver's the Pack A.D. are rolling out plans for a new album — one they've announced will be their final record "for the foreseeable future." It was fun while it lasted arrives April 17 via Fontana North.

While the band have assured us this announcement "doesn't mean [they're] breaking up" and that they aren't "that dramatic," it does appear that we won't be hearing from them again for some time. To mark their tentative goodbye, the Pack A.D. have also mapped out a North American tour in support of the record, including stops in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. See those dates below.

In addition to their tour and album announcements, the band have also shared the lead single from the forthcoming record. "Give Up" arrives from the effort today.

Speaking about the new song and detailing their experience withdrawing from the music industry, drummer Maya Miller offered the following statement:

We've been a band for so long, and it's very insular in so many ways, especially when you're a duo. It is this Us vs The World feeling, that highlights Becky singing "you may feel leftover but you'll always make my team." This song really lays bare all the frustration and depression that has become part and parcel of doing what we love. We love playing music. We love our fans. We would be lying though, if we didn't say that rock music is a boys club and it is a constant battle to keep our space carved out as women. This song is about deciding what's best for us and taking that control. The end refrain is that pact with no judgement or strings attached: "Say you give up. I give in"

Pack A.D.'s last record was 2017's Dollhouse. Last year, they made an appearance on Rae Spoon's 10th full-length record Mental Health.

Listen to "Give Up" below, where you can also find the record's tracklisting and the band's upcoming North American tour dates, which will be preceded by a trek in Europe.
