Recognized for their noisy take on alternative hip-hop, the sounds of Death Grips are the opposite of soothing. But anything is possible on the internet, and one Reddit user has created a unique contrast by pairing the sounds of the abrasive California trio with elevator music.
Posted to the Death Grips subreddit, the eight-track Elevator Grips was created by running the vocals of MC Ride through Microsoft Songsmith, a program which automatically adds musical accompaniment to pre-recorded vocals. The group's electronic production and frantic beats are replaced by cheap MIDI pianos and drums, making the bellowing shouts a little less ferocious than usual.
While we await the release of their forthcoming album Bottomless Pit, take a listen to Elevator Grips in the player below. Thanks to FACT for the tip.
