The Honest Heart Collective

"Peace For The Weary Soul" on Exclaim! TV

BY Ariel MathesonPublished Jan 12, 2016

The past year was not a quiet one for Ontario-based outfit the Honest Heart Collective. With their total show count ringing in at over 45, a stint on Vans Warped Tour and CMW, and the release of their debut LP Liar's Club, it seems that the Thunder Bay six-piece never stopped to rest, stating "that's just not our style." To cap off their jam-packed 2015, band members Nic and Ryan MacDonald stopped by Exclaim! TV for a performance of the appropriately titled "Peace For The Weary Soul" last November.

The pair performed a compelling version of "Truthteller" on our previous episode; for round two, the brothers reeled us in yet again with "Peace For The Weary Soul," delicately crafting a moving acoustic rendition of the powerful album cut. Their passion is evident as Ryan belts out the lyrics, and Nic keeps the piece moving with some light percussion and subtle lower harmonies. The duo close out the track with a raw, emotive a cappella chorus.

You can catch them kick of their 2016 tour live in Thunder Bay on February 12 at Crocks. Find more Ontario tour dates below, after watching their performance in the player.
