Having recently risen from the grave on The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, their first album in more than a decade, the Hives have a newfound appreciation for the importance of capitalizing on the moment. So naturally, they're franchising themselves.

The garage rockers have issued a call for cover bands on social media, writing, "We have arrived at the point where the Hives can no longer keep up with public demand for concerts. This is where you come in."

"Help us create a world where the Hives are playing in every city, all the time," the statement continues. "Let's make business together and rock 'n' roll."

Through the Hives' website, fans can apply to open a Hives franchise in their "city, town or province." (Who's going to tell them we have cities and towns too?)

In sum: the "franchise" describes the business relationship that the band (the franchisor) and your cover band (the franchisee) would hypothetically enter into, which would allow the Hives' live performances to be brought to more audiences without having to, I don't know, clone the original band or something.

There's no word yet on how they plan on assessing the quality of their applicants, or if they'll have to get trained in a vigorous Hives boot camp while wearing those suits as uniforms.
