The Good Lovelies have detailed a new album. The Toronto trio will share We Will Never Be the Same on October 6 via Outside Music, marking their debut for the label.
Co-produced by Joshua Van Tassel and Christine Bougie, We Will Never Be the Same features 12 songs by the trio of Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore and is said to explore "the entry into the second act of life."
A key to that entry is being "Young at Heart," which is the title of the album's opening track that you can hear below, alongside a video directed by Simon Paluck featuring dancer Jillian Peever.
As Brooks explains, the acoustic "Young at Heart" is "about learning to let go by finding the kid within, dancing in the kitchen or riding the mattress down the stairs with a squeal of laughter. We repeat 'I am young at heart' over and over because we want to remember to feel it and never lose our grip on how good it is to feel young."
Alongside the album news, the Good Lovelies have also mapped out a Canadian tour that includes shows on both East and West Coast, along with a northbound trip to Whitehorse. You can find the complete itinerary below.
