The Go-Betweens are once again gathering up their output for a new retrospective box set. Following the 2015 set G Stands for Go-Betweens, the Australian indie-pop heroes have announced G Stands for Go-Betweens Volume Two.

The upcoming box set will arrive on December 6 via Domino.

While the first Go-Betweens box set featured material captured between 1978 and 1984, the second volume will feature music from 1985 to 1989. This means, the upcoming set will include the albums Black Diamond Express (1986), Tallulah (1987) and 16 Lovers Lane (1988).

In addition, the box set will include a previously unreleased double live album recorded in London May 10, 1987. Plus, it will gather up various unreleased demos, recordings and radio sessions, including a collection of 28 songs that was intended to be the unreleased follow-up to 16 Lovers Lane.

All this material will be spread across five vinyl LPs and five CDs. The box set also includes a 112-page book featuring "a trove of archival photos and extensive historical liner notes from founding member Robert Forster — plus additional pieces from guest essayists, fans & contemporaries."

There's also The Liberty Belle And The Black Diamond Express songbook, which contains hand-transcribed sheet music of all 10 songs from the album.

Right now, you can pre-order G Stands for Go-Betweens Volume Two over here, where you can also see the sprawling tracklist for the set.
