This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Decemberists' 2006 LP The Crane Wife, and after plotting the creation of a board game earlier this year, the band are now turning their attention to releasing a special anniversary edition of the album.
The reissue will arrive as a 5-LP box set, featuring a wealth of extras alongside the celebrated album. The original recording will make up the first two records in the box, with the remaining three LPs containing rare B-sides, bonus tracks and previously unreleased material.
The release also includes a DVD of a two-hour live set at Washington, DC's 9:30 Club, originally shot for NPR. A 20-page booklet will also include liner notes from journalist David Fricke and an essay by self-proclaimed Decemberists fan Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The 5-LP box set will hit shelves on December 9 through Capitol Records/Universal Music Enterprises. Read through the detailed tracklist and watch a preview for the reissue below.
