The Cure were just announced as inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they're not resting on their laurels. The goth icons have announced that a new album is on the way.

In an interview with SiriusXM, frontman Robert Smith revealed that the band will be going into the studio in six weeks to finish up "what will be out first album in more than a decade."

He added that, "It's very exciting times for us all around."

Smith went on to say that he was inspired to return to the studio after curating the 2018 Meltdown Festival and watching a lineup of up-and-coming bands.

"Seeing all these new bands inspired me to do something new," he explained. Listen to the radio clip below.
