Published Mar 29, 2011A couple of weeks ago, indie folk stars Thao Nguyen and Mirah announced a West Coast tour to support the self-titled debut of their new project, Thao & Mirah. But it seems as if that eight-date trip won't be enough to sate the folksters' tour hunger, as they have announced a pile of more gigs to their upcoming concert schedule.
On top of their West Coast affair, Thao & Mirah will also be heading out east. Canadian fans will be treated to one more concert from the duo, which will take place at Lee's Palace in Toronto on June 5. Thao & Mirah will be joined by classically minded Seattle experimental indie outfit Led to Sea on most dates.
While they will certainly be playing tracks off their new album, Thao & Mirah will also be spreading political awareness at their shows. According to a press release, both musicians work with Air Traffic Control, "an organization that helps musicians with social advocacy," and this trip will see them promoting a number of social causes.
As previously reported, Thao & Mirah comes out April 26 on Kill Rock Stars.
