Templars

Out of the Darkness

BY Keith CarmanPublished Sep 28, 2008

Returning from the fringes of pop culture, New York oi giants Templars release their first new music in many years. Yet while Out Of The Darkness is solid, it’s also deflating, only being a two-song seven-inch. However, despite a lack of anything fresh for ages, Templars prove themselves still worthy and capable of delivering their trademarked beat-heavy, straightforward attack on the title song and equally abrasive/infectious nature of B-side "Weighed Down.” Frustratingly brief but a hopeful hint of things to come, such as a full-length or EP, Out Of The Darkness is entirely in keeping with what any skin would anticipate from Templars.
