Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been sentenced to two years in prison and five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to nine counts of charges that included charges of racketeering conspiracy, multiple firearms offences and narcotics trafficking.
The rapper born Daniel Hernandez was connected to three New York shootings in 2018. In the 13 months since his arrest, Tekashi has famously been testifying against numerous members of the Bloods gang.
After his attorney Lance Lazzaro detailed Tekashi's "extraordinary assistance and cooperation with the government," the rapper was sentenced to include time served with his charges. That means he will be released in 2020.
Tekashi first rose to prominence with his 2017 music video for "GUMMO," which uses a number of Bloods as extras. According to Lazzaro, however, Tekashi didn't join the Nine Trey Bloods gang until after the video's success, thinking it would help his career.

In 2015, he pleaded guilty to using a 13-year-old child in a sexual performance in 2015. The sex act was distributed online as part of a music video.
