Tegan and Sara Compile Back Catalogue in The Official Vinyl Collection

Tegan and Sara Compile Back Catalogue in The Official Vinyl Collection
Tegan and Sara's latest album, Sainthood, is currently in contention for the Polaris Music Prize, and the duo's fanbase is as devout as ever. Now, Canada's favourite indie rock twins will be delving into the archives for a six-LP vinyl box set, which includes five studio albums, plus a nine-song demo collection.

The set is called The Official Vinyl Collection, and includes 2000's The Business of Art, 2002's If It Was You, 2004's So Jealous, 2007's The Con and 2009's Sainthood. The demo collection is called Home Recordings and brings together unreleased recordings dating back to So Jealous.

Notably absent is the 1999 self-released debut, Under Feet Like Ours. Its omission is somewhat surprising, since it is included in Tegan and Sara's recent six-CD bundle, available from MapleMusic.

There's currently no release date for the box set listed on the website, but according to one commenter, pre-order confirmation emails say that the set has an "estimated" release of August 31. The box, which is coming out via Sire, costs $99.99 - not bad, since that averages out to $16.67 per LP. If you pre-order, it will come with a signed poster.

If you want a sneak peek of Home Recordings, it will be streaming one time only this Friday (July 30) at 4 p.m. EST over at USTREAM.
