Just last month, we learned that former Here We Go Magic member Teeny Lieberson has prepped an album with her new outfit TEEN. While you will have to wait another month before In Limbo hits retailers August 28 via Carpark Records, the group have just unleashed a freebie mixtape for your immediate listening pleasure.
The Rumblette mixtape, which you can stream or download down below, finds the group meshing hazy synthscapes and minimalist beats with references to Outkast, Aphex Twin and Pavement's "Summer Babe."
"Making a mixtape is the perfect opportunity to do something different with no rules," the band said in a statement. "The challenge of taking things that don't make sense instinctually and then making it work is so exciting. Like pairing 702 and Aphex Twin. Outkast and Wang Wei (poet). It creates an off-kilter feeling that seems like you're stuck in a dream. Kind of like being in love in the summer."
As previously noted, TEEN are heading out on tour this fall. What we didn't know at the time, however, is that the band will be linking up with fellow Brooklynites Hospitality for that act's previously announced trip. Both outfits will make it into Canada once, at Vancouver's Media Club on October 10, You can check out the complete schedule below.
