Teen Daze Celebrates Lo-Fi Beach Pop on New EP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 2, 2010

Late November isn't exactly the ideal time to release a summery beach record, but Teen Daze is doing just that. This week, the Abbotsford, BC-based chillwaver released Beach Dreams, a hazy four-song ode to the sand and waves.

The EP is available as a pay-what-you-want download over at Bandcamp. Unlike Teen Daze's synth-y previous works, Beach Dreams relies heavily on guitars, evoking artists like Real Estate, Best Coast and Beach Fossils with its reverb-y jangle. A message accompanying the album reads, "I really came to fall in love with the whole lo-fi pop scene this summer, and I wanted to see what I could come up with."

It continues, "I know that it's starting to get cold, and that carefree love songs about beach life may seem out of context, but I hope that you guys can look back on your past summer, and let these songs remind you of some of the good experiences you had!"
