Ted Leo to Record Live Album at Jack White's Third Man Records

Jack White loves a good live record. If you need proof of that, just check out the ever-growing catalogue of releases on his Third Man imprint. A good chunk of wax has actually been tracked live at his Third Man Studios in Nashville, from the Dead Weather to Conan O'Brien to comedian Reggie Watts. White has now nabbed another artist for the series: punky pop rocker Ted Leo.

A post on Third Man's website explains that the former Chisel/current Pharmacist leader will be heading over to play an intimate solo gig at the studio on May 10.

"Just voice and (electric) guitar and a man known to speak the truth," the statement reads.

It's not certain what exactly the pop punk troubadour will be playing at the gig, but it seems as if Third Man has already put in its two cents. "We've already requested his non-ironic cover of [Bruce Springsteen's] "Dancing in the Dark" (he is from Jersey after all) and who knows what other gems from his illustrious back-catalogue he'll roll out."

Though a release date has yet to be announced, the live set will be pressed on vinyl sometime in the near future. In the meantime, you can catch Leo on his own this month or with his Pharmacists later this summer, including ona stop at Halifax's M Fest in August. Check the dates out below.
