Sure, Taylor Swift triumphed in court and released Reputation to massive commercial success, but for anyone to call 2017 a good year is quite a stretch.

Take into account Swift's increasingly malicious feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, "Ghost in the Shell" whitewashing controversy and β€” most damning of all β€” her refusal to publicly denounce white supremacy, and it's hard to believe that even she had a good year.

Nevertheless, Swift turned 28 yesterday (December 13), and in a post thanking fans for their birthday wishes, she said: "I couldn't have asked for a better year."

The declaration has left plenty of people on the internet thoroughly confused given the death of the Old Taylor and the ensuing barrage of controversies.

Reputation is available on vinyl picture disc and CD through Umusic. Swift's back catalogue is also available.
