"We will vote you out in November"

Following an incredibly disturbing week in America, Taylor Swift has lashed out at President Donald Trump for stocking both racism and violence in the U.S., promising that "we will vote you out."

In the wake of Trump tweeting "when the looting starts, the shooting starts" — a tweet flagged by Twitter for "glorifying violence" — the pop star has weighed in.

"After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?" Swift tweeted today. "'When the looting starts the shooting starts'??? We will vote you out in November."

She then tagged the @realdonaldtrump account.
The tweet quickly went viral and has already been retweeted more than 100,000 times, as well as over 389,000 likes and 20,000 replies. It also marks Swift's most political move against Trump so far.

The tweet has also attracted attention from other celebrities, who have also risen up against Trump.

The tweets, of course, follow a disturbing wave of violence in Minneapolis as protesters and police clash following the death of George Floyd — a black man who died after a white police officer kept his knee on Floyd's neck for minutes as the man slowly suffocated.
