Tasseomancy Announce Timber Timbre-Produced Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 3, 2011

Up until last autumn, indie folk twins Sari and Romy Lightman performed under the name Ghost Bees, who released an album called Tasseomancy back in 2008. As previously reported, the duo have since changed their moniker to Tasseomancy and are now finally gearing up to release the outfit's debut full-length.

Dubbed Ulalume, the LP will be dropping in August via Out of This Spark. Lending a hand are Taylor Kirk and Simon Trottier of Timber Timbre, who co-produced the album and provided some instrumental backing.

According to a press release, Ulalume features a "heavier, more ambient sound, ripe with dreamy, dissonant vocals, influenced by Eastern song, drone music, phonography and myth."

The PR goes on to add that the album "expands its scope to move beyond earlier acoustic arrangements, combining the rhythmic soundscapes of Popol Vuh and Comus with the dream-like state of Julee Cruise."

Listen to new tracks "Healthy Hands (Will Mourn You)" and "The Darkness of Things" over at the label's website.
