Tame Impala Bassist Nick Allbrook Quits Band

Since releasing their career-making breakthrough Lonerism last year, Aussie psych group Tame Impala have maintained a remarkably busy tour schedule. Enough so that their bassist Nick Allbrook has decided to quit the band.

A statement on Tame Impala's website explained that "Nick Roland Paisley Adams Allbrook is hopping off the Tame Impala band wagon so that he can try and screw his head back on, and make an attempt to assimilate back into society. A task the rest of us fear we will one day have to perform...."

Naturally, there are no hard feelings between the parties involved. The statement continued, explaining, "We're super happy for our bro Nick and wish him well in all his various fucking awesome artistic spewings and endeavours that he'll actually have time for now.. Good on ya brah."

Allbrook will be replaced by Cam Avery, who also collaborates with him in Pond. Speaking with NME, Allbrook said, "All bands and projects and stuff will keep going, it's just hard to keep them all going if you're touring all the time. The only bad part will be not seeing my mates every day. I love them more than anything."

His mates won't be home for a while, as they've still got a decent batch of world tour dates to plow through. Check out the full itinerary below.
