Perth, Australia's psychedelic rock band Tame Impala were the highlight of the final day (May 25) at Sasquatch. Their striking, guitar- and synth-driven tunes and onstage visuals meshed perfectly with the golden sunset. Barefoot frontman Kevin Parker and his Rickenbacker guitar led his brainchild through hard blues rhythms and ambient experimental pop hooks that felt like a time machine back to the late 1960s.

Psych-rock track "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," off their 2012 album Lonerism, had a "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"-type air, while the driving blues of "Elephant" drove the audience into a frenzy.

Touring in support of their upcoming but unreleased record, Currents, the show was of particular interest to fans hoping for a performance of new material. It was an engaging, stylish show.
