Montreal-based singer-songwriter Tamara Sandor is gearing up to release her next album Tynes this spring, but right now, she is set to share a brand new video for "A Thousand Holes" — and Exclaim! is giving you the exclusive first look at it.
She describes the song as a "melancholy front-porch ballad" that's rich with lush string arrangements and slide guitar. The musical tribute to love and longing has now been paired with some matching visuals thanks to experimental video artist, and the singer's brother, Jeremy Sandor.
Starting off as a 25-second, phone-shot video of a longboarder in suburban Ontario, the clip has been artistically edited to reflect themes of banality and repetition. The artful, kaleidoscopic representation shows both "a desire to rest at ease with what is loved and familiar" and "an overpowering desire to chop it to pieces and make it new."
Tynes is due out on April 19, with release shows set to follow in Montreal and Toronto. Find show details below, then hit play to watch the video premiere of "A Thousand Holes."
Tour dates:
04/28 Montreal, QC - Casa del Popolo
05/01 Toronto, ON - Burdock
