System of a Down Announce Reunion, Book European Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 29, 2010

System of a Down went on hiatus back in 2006, but the Los Angeles rockers still haven't been forgotten; singer Serj Tankian has released a pair of solo albums, while bassist Shavo Odadijan collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan's RZA. Now, SOAD fans everywhere are celebrating, as the band have announced that they will be reconvening in 2011.

A message on the band's official website reveals, "We are excited to announce that System will be playing some dates together in 2011." All of the shows currently confirmed are taking place in Europe in June, and you can see the dates below.

By the sound of things, the band currently have no intention to record a new album; the website reads, "We have no master plan of sorts -- we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans."

It's possible that SOAD will be announcing North American tour dates soon, but if you want to play it safe, now might be a good time to start booking your European vacation plans.
