Swiz/Sweetbelly Freakdown Offshoot Red Hare Announce Dischord Debut
Continuing a journey started over 25 years ago, members of '80s DC hardcore crew Swiz have reunited under the name Red Hare and will deliver their full-length debut Nites of Midnite through Dischord/Hellfire this spring.

A press release from Dischord confirms that the band reunites vocalist Shawn Brown and guitarist Jason Farrell, who formed Swiz in 1987 (Red Hare bassist Dave Eight joined Swiz in 1990). The three had previously resuscitated their musical partnership in the mid '90s with the furiously rocking but terribly named Sweetbelly Freakdown. Rounding out Red Hare's lineup is drummer Joe Gorelick, who had previously played with Farrell in '90s post-hardcore act Bluetip and more recently in Retisonic.

An exact street date has yet to be announced, but the song cycle will arrive on CD, LP and digitally. The tracklist has yet to surface as well, but it will presumably feature the band's recently unveiled "Horace," a driving firecracker faithful to their collective history, including Brown's tenure with Dag Nasty. You can stream it down below.

Red Hare have also announced plans for some shows along the East Coast, though dates have not been set in stone.
