Busy Ontario songwriter Jon Lawless has been uncharacteristically quiet in the first part of 2014, but the First Rate People member has now unveiled plans for an EP under his Swim Good moniker. This short collection includes a song featuring Bon Iver member S. Carey.
"Grand Beach" also includes contributions for up-and-comer Daniela Andrade. It begins with an ultra-mellow intro of wordless coos and distant electronic tones. Andrade sings lead as the arrangement shifts into low-key electronic pop, and Lawless takes over on the mic during the track's acoustic-driven middle section. The electronic elements eventually return for the song's final passage.
