Sweden's postal service will be paying homage to some of its finest pop exports with a new set of stamps.

Max Martin, First Aid Kit, Robyn, Avicii and Seinabo Sey are all set to appear on the stamps, which were illustrated by Jenny Mörtsell from original photos taken by Alex Wessley, Andreas Larsson, Kristoffer Berg, Johannes Helje and Mikael Dahl. They'll be available as of January 15.

"Stamp design engages people, and Frimärksrådet (The Stamp Advisory Committee) receives many suggestions for artists as stamp images," said Jan Gradvall, journalist and member of the selection committee. "We've now selected five performers who represent the development of pop music, with each one representing a component of the Swedish pop phenomenon."

According to a press release from Postnord (the country's official postal service), Sweden ranks third in the global export of pop music. It also notes the nation's technological contributions to the music industry with the creation of online services like Spotify and SoundCloud.

First Aid Kit's Klara and Johanna Söderberg have already got plans to send out some snail mail in the new year. "Being on a stamp is really awesome, and also very surreal," they said in a statement to Postnord. "It's not something people expect to happen! We're planning to send a letter to our beloved grandfather in Hampetorp — he'll be surprised for sure."
