SWANES are returning to action with new EP Trials and Simulations next month, and before it arrives, Exclaim! is proud to premiere the Toronto brother-duo's new single "Don't Let Them In," which arrives alongside a video.

The EP's opening track was written by Michael and Stefan Bildy last year, and while the smooth sonics will surely offer some comfort, the song's lyrics offer fittingly describe some parts of our current societal state.

No, the brothers did not foresee the pandemic before the rest of us, but were inspired by George A. Romero's seminal 1968 horror film Night of the Living Dead to pen lyrics of empty malls, emptier streets and not opening your front door unless absolutely necessary.

The brothers also cut together the accompanying colourful clip for "Don't Let Them In," using their time in self-isolation to scour footage of public domain PSAs and historical programs to combine with generative digital textures.

You can take in SWANES' blend of sound and vision below.

Trials and Simulations is set for release on May 15, and also features previously shared singles "BPD" and "The Hard Way." To mark the occasion, the brothers will perform the entire EP in a livestream session from their studio on release day.

Trials and Simulations:

1. Don't Let Them In
2. BPD
3. Leggo My Ego
4. The Hard Way
