Montreal four-piece Suuns signed with Secretly Canadian earlier this year, and quickly dropped a free six-song EP called Zeroes (which is still available in Click Hear). Now, the art rock group have revealed the details for their debut album.
The record follows up the EP with a similar title: Zeroes QC. Earlier this year, the band entered the studio with the Besnard Lakes' Jace Lasek to record the full-length. According to a press release, the result "is a warm yet dark, propulsive collusion of pop, post-punk and experimental rock - one that allows the group to musically shapeshift without losing any of the sense of tension and unease that runs throughout the record... Most impressive, though, is how Suuns effortlessly sculpt memorable pop songs from experimental building blocks, frequently using noise and space as actual hooks. All of this amounts to a great first album - one that is as timeless as it is thrillingly modern."
Secretly Canadian will release Zeroes QC on October 12. Album track "Arena" can be downloaded here. In addition to the album release, Suuns will spend their entire autumn touring North America with Land of Talk and the Besnard Lakes.
