Suuns Return with Sophomore Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 14, 2012

Since Montreal's Suuns released their buzzed-about Zeroes QC back in 2010, the dark art-rock outfit have tided fans over with their Bambi 12-inch. Now, they are back with a new full-length, Images du Futur, which will drop on March 5 via Secretly Canadian.

Like Zeroes QC, the sophomore effort was produced by Besnard Lakes main man Jace Lasek. It was written and recorded in Montreal during the winter and spring of 2012.

Singer Ben Shemie said in a statement, "As a band we were trying to look at our music from further and further away, seeing more details in the picture as we expanded the landscape."

A press release promises that the album will build on on the sound of Zeroes QC with a style that is said to be abstract and adventurously minimal. Get a taste of what the new material sounds like by streaming the slow-burning "Edie's Dream" at the bottom of the page.

Suuns have a few tour dates planned for the final weeks of 2012. They're mostly centred in Europe, but this Friday (November 16) they will play at Montreal's La Sala Rossa with Sun Airway. Scroll past the Images du Futur tracklist to see the schedule.
